SCMS Centre for Socio-Economic Research(SCENSER) is an initiative which came out of the thrust which SCMS gives for research on topics having high Socio-Economic relevance in Indian Society. The unit now rechristened as SCMS Centre of Research, Consultancy and Training (SCRCT) is the research, consultancy and training division of SCMS Group. It started its operations in the year 2003 and has a separate Head, ably assisted by a team of experienced professionals. The centre undertakes research studies, market surveys, feasibility studies, management consultancy and human resource development and training in India and abroad.
Some of the Management Development Programmes held recently were for State Bank of India, Kerala State Financial Enterprises, Carborandum Universal, MILMA, Coconut Development Board, India Post, Allianz Cornhill, IndianOil Dealers and for Managers of Retail Outlets. Some of the training programmes under planning are for ONGC Executives, HPCL Dealers etc. National Skill Development in Retails and Stores Operations are also under consideration by Kudumbashree, a State Mission Programme.

MDPs are designed with the objective of providing practicing managers. They can be broadly organized under few categories

On Campus - Usually programmes are held at our Corporate Office premise at SCMS-COCHIN Off Campus programmes – Depending upon the requirement the trainers can be sent to the preferred location for an off campus programme

Are MDP residential?
Optional, but advisable where it is essential because the lecturing methodology involves group exercise, case studies; role-plays simulation games, lecture cum demonstration, evening & pre-dinner sessions. The residential programmes could be organized at Hotels and outside venues.

What is the methodology for training in executive development?
Pedagogical / Andragogic tools are matched to bridge the performance problems of individuals and organizations. We emphasize on learning by doing and participating. We have an assorted mix of exercises, role plays, simulation games, case studies, presentations to supplement the conventional lectures / demonstration methods.
What is the normal group size?
A typical group varies from 20 to 40 (exceptions are sometimes made). However an optimal group size could be about 25.
How is a typical programme day scheduled?
A normal day starts at 9:00 hours and goes on to 17.00 hours. The programmes where life skills like Yoga, meditation etc. are involved could start well before 7:00 am. Classes involving faculty are generally in the mornings; group exercises, seminars, presentations by participants are normally scheduled during afternoons. Preparation for the following days classes take place in groups or on individual basis in afternoons and evenings.
How do I sponsor a group?
Programmes are organized either on functional/Sectoral basis. Alternativelyprogrammes can be organized on an industry/organization basis after evaluating the client needs. You can download the MDP form from our website
What does the programme fee include?
The programme fee normally depends on and includes professional charges for initiation and conduct of courses. The other costs like food, boarding, cost of material are normally incremental.
