SCMS School of Technology and Management (SSTM), an institution of excellence in management and technology education, established in 2003, offers 2 years MBA and MCA program, 5 years Integrated MCA program, 2 year M.Sc. in Bio Sciences and Biotechnology and Bachelors programs in Commerce, Management, Computer applications, Economics Biotechnology and Psychology. All these programs are approved by All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. It has also received A grade accreditation from NAAC and ISO 9001:2008 certified. MBA programme is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA)

About The Conference

Today world is witnessing a disruptive environment, created by big data, robotics and automation, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, internet of things and others in the name of Industry 4.0. This disruptive environment is sure to bring an ocean of change in workplace at a speed that is unimaginable. In sync Industry 4.0, has emerged the Education 4.0, that focusses on a sustainable, global and a collaborative approach. This revolution is all set to bring about enormous change in the education sector. This would encourage learners to equip with skills like adaptability, learnability and agility as well as teachers to equip with special skills catering to the requirement of students and the system as such. Education 4.0 is about a technology driven education system that is far away from the traditional classroom system. In this system students are no more confined to the traditional classrooms where the only source of learning was from their teachers. The concept of text books, black boards, chalks, markers etc. are being replaced by effective and efficient technology driven devices and environment. Educational institutions are striving very hard to improve their processes, particularly the teaching learning process. In of light changes happening in the industry, educational institutions have a greater responsibility to prepare students for a VUCA world. Coupled with these, the NEP2020, is all set to bring about a total change in the education scenario. This conference will help to deliberate on various issues relating to the changes brought about by the VUCA world. The major highlight of this conference is that to understand how industry 4.0 is going to affect education sector, what needs to be done and how to overcome these changes. It will also deliberate on how the NEP 2020 is about to bring change in the higher education. The objective of the conference is to understand:

The conference will bring about:

  • Understanding Industry 4.0 – This would help the participants to know what industry 4.0 is all about.
  • Impact of industry 4.0 on education - Industry 4.0 is characterized automation making use of technology like artificial intelligence, Augmented Reality, digitization, data analytics, IOT etc. in almost all spheres. The expectation from the industry would also shift. Hence a greater role has to be played by institutions in preparing the workforce. Quality in education is something that has been more talked about today and it is that, which has been changing over a period of time. There are many parameters that contribute to quality of education. Curriculum, Teachers role and capability, learning environment, students’ attitude and capability etc. are some of the factors that would be affected. This conference would highlight the impact of changes that would affect the education sector.
  • Understanding the challenges posed by Education 4.0.
  • Aligning education with industry 4.0 – this would enable to understand the required changes that need to brought in order match with the changing requirements of the industry.
