Eligibility criteria for admission to 5-year B.Arch. course for the academic session 2020-2021

TO HEADS OF ARCHITECTURAL INSTITUTIONS IMPARTING B.ARCH.COURSE IN THE COUNTRY AND THEIR MANAGEMENTS

Sub: Relaxation in B.Arch.Eligibility Criteria for the academic session 2020-2021 New NATA - 2020 Registration -reg.

Dear Sir/Madam,

In view of the Pandemic Covid-19 and partial cancellation of 10+2 level examinations by various boards/authorities in the country,the Ministry of HRD, Government of India,based on the recommendations of the Council of Architecture,has relaxed the eligibility for admission to 1st year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course,prescribed under Regulations of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Eductaion) Regulations,1983 for the academic session 2020-2021, as a one-time measure, as under.

(1) No candidate shall be admitted to B.Arch. Course unless she/he passed in 10+2 scheme of examination with PCM subjects or pass in 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics,as the case may be.

(2) The Candidates who have qualified the aptitude test i.e NATA or JEE, wth pass percentage in 10+2 scheme of examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with mathematics shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch course for the academic session 2020 -2021

The same has been published in the Official Gazette vide Notification No. F. No. CA/193/2020/MSAE (Regulations) on August 7, 2020 (copy attached)

Note: The above relaxation shall be valid for the academic session 2020-2021 only,irrespective of the year in which a candidate has passed 10+2 or 10+3 examination

In view of the above all institutions are required to adhere to the above eligibility criteria while granting admission into 1st year of 5 year B.Arch. degree course for the academic session 2020-2021

It is further informed that all candidates meeting the above eligiblity criteria may also apply for registration.NATA 2020 shall be an online examination comprising PART- A Test (Congnitive skills for Drawing and Visual Composition Test) & PART-B (Test on Scientific Ability & General Aptitude)

The First NATA Test shall be conducted on August 29,2020 while the Second Test is tentatively scheduled during 2nd or 3rd week September.The candidates (new as well as already registered) are required to confrim their venue of examination as either home or nearest Test Centre as per their convenience.The last date for Registration for NATA 2020 Examination has also been extended upto 16.08.2020, 11.59 pm. The institutions are therefore requested to give wider publicity to conduct of NATA 2020 among general public and all concerned so that prospective candidates desirous to join Architecture as their profession,may apply for the same.
