allied subjects, the School of Architecture Library
is more than equipped to meet the requirements of

SSA has dedicated over 1000 sq.ft. of space for a material museum, providing students with physical samples of building materials, exposing them to developments in the building material sector enabling them to make informed choices about the materials proposed for their designs. Equipping Students Through Internship<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tInternships are catalysts for change from being a student to becoming a professional.\nStudents undergo extensive training under the supervision of a registered architect.\nIt helps students develop drafting skills, design aesthetic as well as functional\nbuildings, adapt designs to suit budget constraints or client needs, design with\nbuilding codes and environmental factors in mind, etc. Students learn to engage with\nclients, consultants, contractors, field staff and workers and work as a team. They get\nhands on experience in project inception, tendering, estimation, onsite execution,\netc.\nArchitecture internship is for a period of one year (Semester 7 & 8). Guidance\nsessions are held in making resume and portfolio and an orientation workshop is\nconducted during semester 6. Students receive an internship manual and guidance\nfrom faculty in choosing and applying to Architecture firms\/companies based on\nstudents area of interest. In the 10th Semester, Career Guidance Sessions are held,\nto help students build their career.\nStudents from SSA have interned in well-known national and international\nfirms\/companies in sectors like residential, industrial, commercial, interior design,\nsustainable development, landscape design, green design, urban design and low cost\narchitecture.
