We are pleased to announce that the inauguration of the SCMS Institute for Road Safety and Transportation (SiRST) was successfully conducted on 5th April 2023. This was a proud moment for everyone associated with SCMS as SiRST is the first institute of its kind in the region dedicated to the noble cause of road safety and transportation.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of guests including government officials, industry leaders, and academic scholars. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the guests, Hon’ble Justice. Devan Ramachandran – Judge, High Court of Kerala; Sri. Biju Prabhakar IAS – Secretary Transport and CMD KSRTC; Sri. S Sreejith IPS – Transport Commissioner, Road Safety Commissioner and Additional DGP; Sri. John K Paul – Director, Kuttukaran Group and President of Kerala Automobile Dealers Association and Prof. Pramod P Thevannoor – Vice Chairman, SCMS Group of Educational Institutions.

The guest speakers emphasized the importance of road safety and transportation in the development of the country. The Hon’ble Justice congratulated SCMS for taking the initiative to set up SiRST and commended the institution for its commitment to excellence in the field of education.

The inaugural function also saw the unveiling of the SiRST logo, which symbolizes the institution’s vision and mission. The logo represents SiRST’s commitment to promoting road safety and sustainable transportation systems through education, research, and outreach.

The inauguration of SiRST marked a significant milestone in the history of SCMS. The institute is poised to become a center of excellence in the field of road safety and transportation, and we look forward to contributing to the development of our nation through this noble initiative.
