7th International Conference on

Web Services Computing: Digital Forensics: Uncovering Truth in the Age of Data

December 17, 2025

Objective

The Department of Computer Applications, SCMS School of Technology and Management, is hosting the 7th International Conference on Web Services Computing (ICWSC 2025) on the theme “Digital Forensics: Uncovering Truth in the Age of Data” in Hybrid Mode on December 17, 2025. The conference aims to provide a vibrant platform for sharing ideas and research on the diverse dimensions of digital forensics. Building on the success of its earlier editions—ICWSC 2011, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023—which featured significant contributions in areas such as AI, the Metaverse, and web services, this year’s edition will spotlight emerging technologies shaping the future of digital forensics.

In today’s hyperconnected world, where data drives every aspect of personal, corporate, and governmental activity, digital forensics has emerged as a critical discipline for ensuring truth, accountability, and security. As cybercrimes, data breaches, and digital fraud continue to rise, the ability to investigate, analyse, and interpret digital evidence has become indispensable for law enforcement, organizations, and researchers alike. The theme “Digital Forensics: Uncovering Truth in the Age of Data” reflects the growing need to harness advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain to detect, prevent, and resolve cyber incidents. It emphasizes the importance of digital forensics not just as a technical field, but as a cornerstone of trust, transparency, and justice in an era dominated by data-driven decisions.

The main objective of the Conference is to provide a platform for discussing and exchanging views on various aspects of Web 3.0 – the Metaverse and its applications in management and academics. Participants will have an opportunity to acquire knowledge, views and latest research findings and build networks with professionals of similar interests. The earlier editions of the conference ICWSC-2011, ICWSC-2013, ICWSC-2014 , ICWSC-2018, ICWSC-2020 had brought in some enriching research works from across the world on various aspects of Web Services. The current edition of ICWSC will focus on technologies evolving due to emergence of the Web 3.0 – the Metaverse.

The Metaverse is a seamless convergence of physical and digital worlds, creating a unified, virtual community where people can work, play, relax, transact, and socialize. This blending of physical and digital worlds is facilitated by the convergence between the Internet and Web technologies, Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR), Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain.

Metaverse is the driving force bringing elements of new digital age together in a unified, immersive experience. This development of more immersive virtual experiences is helping people to build communities based on shared values, and to express themselves in more authentic ways. Meanwhile, COVID-19 has accelerated the digitization of people’s lives and has normalized more persistent and multi-purpose online engagement and communication. This combination of technological, social, and economic drivers has resulted in the explosive interest in the Social Metaverse.

However, Privacy and security issues (inherited from underlying technologies or emerged in the new digital ecology) of metaverse can impede its wide deployment. The Conference aims to discuss the most relevant ongoing research efforts on various aspects of metaverse and its applications in business and academics. Participants will have an opportunity to acquire knowledge, views and latest research findings and build networks with professionals of similar interests.
