As per the request from the Town planning department of Kochi the M.Tech Environmental Engineering students of SSET conducted a survey of ecological and land use changes at Panampilly Nagar in Ernakulam. The students were given detailed training about the area, methodology of work etc, by around 6 senior officials from the Chief Town Planner’s office, District Collectorate, Kakkanad. These officials are also involved in the field survey with students. This is the first time the Town Planning Office Ernakulam is collaborating with an Engineering College for such a Govt assignment. A detailed study report was prepared and submitted to the Town planning department.
