As per the request from Nagarjuna Apartments, Kadavanthra, Kochi Residential Association a detailed water audit was conducted in 2014. Water audit helps to make a meticulous investigation into the misuse and overuse of water and to find out the value addition of water in each stage and to provide recommendations in order to promote efficient water utilization, conservation, and management and to reduce operating cost.. As a part of data collection an Apartment to Apartment survey about water use was conducted using a questionnaire. Also, a Semi-structured interview was done with the officials of the committee of the apartment, the manager, the technician, plumber. Based on the data collected and data analysis conducted a detailed recommendation was given to the residents association to efficiently manage the water consumption in their apartments. The residents’ association of Nagarjuna Apartments were informed that by following the recommendations given, helped them to reduce water usage by 37%.
