A workshop on green audit was conducted in SCMS College of Polytechnics on 6th March 2022 by SCMS Water Institute. Dr Sunny George explained the concept of green audit and Ms Merin Mathew explained the methodology adopted to conduct a green audit for their campus. 

Green audit is the process of assessing the environmental impact of an organization, process, project, product etc. Green audit can be defined as a basic management tool comprising a systematic, documented, periodic and objective evaluation of how well environmental organisations, management systems and equipment are performing. The aim of the audit is to facilitate management control of environmental practices and to enable the organization to assess compliance with its policies including meeting regulatory requirements.
