SCMS Water Institute has successfully completed a paid consultancy project for the construction of a “Nature Based Wastewater Treatment” Plant at Govt Higher Secondary School, Elamakkara, Ernakulam which Fraunhofer Foundation, Germany through CHED of Kochi Municipal Corporation, funded. This is the first initiative in Kerala to use a Nature-based solution to solve the wastewater problem by a local body. This Nature-Based Wastewater Treatment System was inaugurated by H. E. Dr Philipp Achermann, Ambassador of Germany to India & Bhutan on 8th June 2023 in the presence of the Hon’ble Mayor of Kochi and Vice Chairman SCMS at Elamakkara School.
