“German Solutions to Indian Challenges”; by Indian German Water Partnership, 19th October 2015

The summit, jointly organised by the SCMS Water Institute and Kochi Corporation, in association with German Water Partnership (GWP), focused on conservation and management of water sources. Panel discussions were held on topics including protection of local water sources – sustainable solutions for municipal waste water and storm water management, monitoring domestic water supply quality – challenges for urban and rural areas, industrial water and waste water treatment. The members of GWP, a consortium of 350 German organisations, have decided to collaborate with CSWTM with the objective of
resolving water related problems in the State by adapting German technologies to the Kerala situation. Dr G.P.C. Nayar, chairman of SCMS Group, Honorable Mr Jorn Rhode, Consul General of Germany in Bengaluru, Shri. K M Chandrasekhar IAS (Retd), Vice Chairman, Kerala State Planning Board, Mayor Tony Chammany, Ms Christine Von Lonski, Director of GWP, and Prof M. Madhavan, Principal of SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, attended the inaugural function.
