SCMS water institute is extending expert services for various projects of KMRL as a knowledge partner. SWI has given a consultancy service for the canal-oriented projects being executed by Kochi Metro Rail Limited in 2021 and also in 2018 KMRL came to SCMS Group requesting technical support for assessing the potential for harvesting of rooftop rainwater in the metro station of KMRL. A MoU has been made in this regard between these two institutions. As per the agreement, the study was carried out by SCMS Water Institute and a detailed technical report with site-specific plans for each metro station was submitted to KMRL. In light of this report, KMRL has already installed a rooftop rainwater harvesting system at Companypady station as a pilot initiative and will in turn implement harvesting of rooftop rainwater in all the metro stations.
