Walkable Kochi Project

The Semester 6 (Batch 2022) students of the Department of Architecture actively participated in the Walkable Kochi Project under the GIZ-SUMACA initiative, aimed at promoting pedestrian-friendly urban environments. The program commenced with an online orientation session on 13th April 2025, where students were introduced to the objectives, methodologies, and significance of the initiative.

Following the orientation, the students conducted neighbourhood-level pedestrian audits on 14th and 15th April, assessing walkability, accessibility, and safety in selected urban areas of Kochi. These audits provided students with a hands-on opportunity to engage with real-world urban issues and evaluate existing infrastructure.
