As part of the Semester 5 Architectural Design Studio an interactive session on Steel Buildings was organized on 7th October 2025 by the Uralungal Labour Contract Co – operative at the Seminar Hall, SCMS School of Architecture. The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of steel as a structural material and its applications in contemporary architectural design. Experts from ULCC shared valuable insights into the design, detailing, and execution of steel structures, emphasizing their advantages in terms of flexibility, sustainability, and construction efficiency. The session provided students with a practical perspective on the use of steel in building design, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world construction practices.
