The first edition of Sakriti – an event showcasing the works of students spanning across all years along with workshops, seminars and panel discussions was held on 20th and 21st of August 2022 with this year’s theme being Space, Memories and Architecture. Honourable MP of Ernakulam, Shri. Hibi Eden was the chief guest of the inaugural event and Keynote speaker was Ar. Lalichan Zacharias. Guest of honour for the day was the acclaimed dancer Dr. Methil Devika who delivered a talk titled ‘Recalibrating Space: A Dancer’s Canvas’ on manifestation of space and its impact from the perspective of a performer. The first day also included a photography workshop by Ar. Hawin Printo.
The second day included a workshop by the esteemed art director Mr. M. Bawa titled ‘Art of Sculpting Spaces’, talk by Ar. Eugene Pandala titled ‘Explorations in Space : Context of Nature’ and a Panel discussion with a multidisciplinary panel moderated by Ar. John Kuruvilla and panelists Ar. Eugene Pandala, Mr. K J Sohan, Former mayor of Kochi and convener of INTACH, Mr. Jose Dominic, Co-convener of INTACH, Kochi chapter , hotelier and entrepreneur, Ar. Vinod Kumar, Conservation architect and INTACH Convenor, Thrissur chapter.
