Fourth International Conference on Computing, Communication, Security and Intelligent Systems -2026

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering successfully organized IC3SIS 2026 – the Fourth International Conference on Computing, Communication, Security and Intelligent Systems from 28–30 May 2026.

The conference brought together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and students to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss recent advancements in computing and intelligent technologies. Participants attended inspiring keynote addresses, innovative research paper presentations, and insightful technical sessions covering emerging trends in the field. The event also fostered meaningful collaborations and networking opportunities, contributing significantly to academic and research excellence.

TAAL RAGA – Logo Launch and Inauguration of the Department Arts Club

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the Logo Launch and Inauguration of the Department Arts Club – TAAL RAGA under the banner of SYNERGY on 12 January 2026 at the Auditorium, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology (SSET).

The chief guest, Ms. Kalamandalam Ancy, a renowned dancer and Director of Natyarambha Institute of Classical Dance, inaugurated the event and delivered an inspiring address on the importance of art and culture in student life.

Session on “Overview of Digital Marketing”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering  organized an orientation session on “Overview of Digital Marketing” for second and third year students.

The session was conducted by Dr. Manish T I, Head of the Department, and

coordinated by Ms. Shruthi S, Assistant Professor.

The session emphasized the difference between theoretical concepts and real business implementation.

SYNERGY Association Day and Magazine Launch 2025

The Department Association of Computer Science and Engineering, SYNERGY, in collaboration with IQAC, successfully organized the Association Day and Magazine Launch on March 21, 2025, at the Seminar Hall. The event began at 10:30 AM with a silent prayer, followed by a welcome address and inspiring speeches by Dr. Anitha G. Pillai, Principal of SSET, and Mr. Manish, Head of the CSE Department, emphasizing the significance of the association’s activities. The magazine was officially inaugurated by Dr. Anitha G. Pillai, while the digital edition was launched by Mr. Lathif Penath, Assistant Professor and Consultant Psychologist.

Curriculum Enrichment Workshop on Cloud Computing

The Department Association of Computer Science and Engineering, SYNERGY, in association with IQAC, organized a Curriculum Enrichment Workshop on Cloud Computing on 18th October 2025 at Lab 5, AD Block. The session was conducted by Mr. Joby Joseph, Cloud Practice Lead – AI.Cloud Unit, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), providing students with hands-on exposure to cloud computing concepts, AI integration, and real-world industry practices. The workshop was highly beneficial, enhancing students’ understanding of modern cloud technologies and supporting the department’s commitment to academic and professional development.

Care Beyond Curriculum – Recognising Student Mental Health Signs

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a seminar titled Care Beyond Curriculum – Recognising Student Mental Health on 13 November 2025 at the Conference Hall, Administrative Block, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, with the participation of 46 first-year students.

The session was conducted by Mr. Lathif Penath, Head of the Department of Psychology at MES Asmabi College and Consultant Psychologist at SapienEdge, who provided valuable insights into recognizing early signs of mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and emotional distress among students.

MindfulMinds @Work

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the MindfulMinds seminar on 13 November 2025 at the Seminar Hall, Administrative Block, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, with the participation of 28 faculty members.

The session was conducted by Mr. Lathif Penath, Head of the Department of Psychology at MES Asmabi College and Consultant Psychologist at SapienEdge, who introduced practical mindfulness techniques to help faculty manage workplace stress, enhance emotional resilience, improve focus, and maintain a healthy work–life balance.

Growth Point Counseling Session

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Growth Point Counseling Session on 17 December 2025 at the Seminar Hall, Administrative Block, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, for 130 final-year students.

The session was conducted by Mr. Ramachandran V. A., a certified Heartfulness Trainer, and focused on promoting holistic personal development, emotional well-being, self-awareness, stress management, and positive thinking.

Growth Point – Practice of Meditation

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the Growth Point – Practice of Meditation workshop on 17 December 2025 at the Seminar Hall, Administrative Block, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, for 60 second-year students.

The session was led by Mr. Arun Chandran and Ms. Brindha Subramaniam, certified Heartfulness Trainers, who introduced participants to the principles and benefits of Heartfulness meditation through interactive discussions and a guided meditation session.
