THRYA – Traditional Dance Club

Thrya is the traditional dance club of SSET, dedicated to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage through classical dance forms. The club provides students with opportunities to learn, perform, and celebrate traditional dance while fostering creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation. Through practice sessions, cultural programs, and intercollegiate events, Thrya inspires students to embrace tradition and showcase their artistic talents.

Objectives

  • Preserve and promote India’s diverse traditional dance forms.
  • Provide a platform for students to develop their dance skills and stage confidence.
  • Encourage teamwork, discipline, and leadership through collaborative performances.
  • Represent SSET in cultural festivals, competitions, and intercollegiate events.

Sanchara –90 minutes with Thrya - Inauguration

Sanchara – 90 Minutes with Thrya marked the inauguration of Thrya. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. Jenson Joseph E., followed by a series of interactive activities, including Decode the Mudra, Spot Choreo, Dumb Charades – Abhinaya Round, and Classical Step Progression. The event witnessed enthusiastic student participation and successfully celebrated Indian classical dance through creativity, teamwork, and cultural engagement.

Anandam – Classical dance Workshop

Anandam is a flagship initiative of THRYA, organized in association with the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Cell and IQAC. The workshop promotes appreciation of India’s classical dance traditions through lectures, demonstrations, performances, and hands-on training. Designed to foster creativity, discipline, cultural awareness, and artistic expression, Anandam provides students with an experiential platform to explore the philosophy, techniques, and heritage of Indian classical dance while contributing to the preservation of the nation’s rich cultural legacy.
