IGNITING THE QUEST FOR INNOVATION
The Dr. Pradeep P Thevannoor Innovation Awards (PPTIA) were instituted by SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, Kerala, India, in 2015 to globally identify, recognize, and celebrate innovative ideas and applications that address the challenges faced by society. As part of this Initiative, SCMS School of Engineering &Technology is organizing a Hackathon designed to engage the creative minds of students (Grades 8 to 12, and Polytechnic Colleges). This event offers a platform for students to propose innovative solutions to specific problem statements while fostering a culture of startups and innovation. The hackathon provides an opportunity for students to showcase their ideas with both national and international visibility.

PROBLEM STATEMENTS
Design and develop innovative technological solutions that strengthen national safety, security, and resilience, inspired by Operation Sindhoor. Focus areas include smart border surveillance, AI-based threat detection, drone and anti-drone technologies, and real-time anomaly detection. Create working models or simulations to demonstrate the effectiveness of your proposed solution in real-world scenarios.
Develop innovative technology solutions that improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities in India. Focus on creating smart wearables and devices for early illness detection, health monitoring, and emergency alerts. Build functional prototypes that showcase practical benefits in preventive and responsive healthcare.
Develop innovative technology solutions to increase agricultural yield and support sustainable farming practices across India. Emphasize smart irrigation systems, AI-powered crop health monitoring, and cost-effective weather or soil analysis tools. Build practical prototypes that empower farmers and improve resource efficiency for a more productive and resilient agricultural sector.
Registration and Idea Submission
- Registration and Idea Submission: 6 to 30 October 2024
- Grand Finale: November 16, 17 2025
Prize Money
- There will be first, second, and third prizes awarded separately for schools and polytechnic colleges.
- Amount of prize money to be awarded to each winning team is Rs.100000/- (first prize), Rs. 50000/- (second prize), and Rs. 25000/- (third prize).
Registration open for 8 to 12 grade students and Polytechnic students
Additionally the winners:
- Will be provided space at incubation centers of SCMS institutions.
- Have opportunities for funding and assistance.
The deadline for registration and idea submission is October 30, 2024. Shortlisted teams will be announced in the first week of November. The final event is scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2024, at SCMS School of Engineering & Technology, Karukutty, Ernakulam, Kerala.
